Somebody give that man a beeeeeeeeeeeeeeer.

and the soap opera continues..

I told ya on the air the other day after it was reported the HOF would be live that I figured Eddie and Alex would show up. Now it becomes interesting to see if they all can behave themselves. Here is the story as reported from BLABBERMOUTH.NET

According to Premiere Radio Networks, all the members of VAN HALEN — Eddie and Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth, Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar — have told the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame that they will be attending the induction ceremony on March 12 in New York. Roth, Anthony and Hagar had said from the start that they would be there, and Premiere Radio Networks learned last night (Thursday, March 1) that Eddie and Alex have reserved a table for themselves and their families. However, they will not be performing. VELVET REVOLVER will pay tribute to them, with the band’s Scott Weiland and Slash actually inducting them. This marks the second year in a row that one of the inductees, who are all there and accounted for, will not perform. METALLICA paid tribute to a non-performing BLACK SABBATH last year.

For the first time the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be broadcast live on VH1 Classic, and be streamed on AOL without commercials. The ceremony will air on Monday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. Previous induction ceremonies were only offered on a tape-delay basis on VH1.

Velvet Revolver to perform for & induct Van Halen into Rock Hall Of Fame

 Â

Velvet Revolver has been tapped for Van Halen’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band will perform in Van Halen’s place, and singer Scott Weiland and guitarist Slash will speak on Van Halen’s behalf. For now, it doesn’t look like David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar will join Velvet Revolver onstage, and Michael Anthony hasn’t commented yet. It’s still unknown whether Eddie and Alex Van Halen will attend the ceremony.

MORE GLOOM FOR VAN HALEN FANS:

Can't we all just get along?
Today’s LA Times has covered the latest chapter in the Van Halen saga in some detail. David Lee Roth comments and plays it very diplomatically. But read this article – this (without saying so much) spells out the problem pretty clearly…more clearly than I felt comfortable to state earlier in the week.
So, read through and make your own minds up. This band most definitely has a problem and I hope for the sake of long suffering fans and those that care, things within the band are addressed and this anticipated tour can eventually take place.Â
