Selling the Vatican might provide some people with one meal.

What is needed is to protect poor people from government graft, corruption, and outlawry. Next is to provide seeds and water to grow food — like beans, rice, potatoes, squash, and soya. Teach small animal husbandry like goats, ducks, chickens, pigeons, etc. for soil enriching droppings. Secure the homes, produce, and land of the poor from governments, tyrants, and criminals.

That doesn’t take selling the Vatican to start, and won’t be solved by selling the Vatican.
